It can be done, but it won't sound very good. Instrument amps are not designed to handle voices.
You would need to get an adapter from the XLR plug to a 1/4 inch one. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Unless it's a high-impedance mic...
But before making any recommendations - what exactly are you trying to do? Amplify voices or acoustic instruments through your amp? Without knowing the application it's hard to tell what might work - although Mike is correct, it's usually just a bad idea. _________________ No chops, but great tone

What Sliff said---Are you trying to use the amp for a P.A., or are you trying to put a mike in front of the amp? |

You can obtain a preamp signal by simply connecting an instrument cable from the PRE AMP OUT on the rear panel. No XLR connector involved. This will access a nominal one volt signal from the PRE AMP OUT jack. |
