I think I have it right.Open to suggestions.
starting with 1st string,high to low.
E
C#
A
F#
D#
B
I "think" this is the way Roy Thompson says to do it,and who can question a player of his great ability.I'm putting it on a National Rocket 110.Thank you my friends.PJ |

Nice lush chords here.
Play strgs 2-6 and you have a B with a 7 and a 9 on top. {B9}
Strings 1-4 give a lush A6.

It's nice to have a C# on the bottom instead of a B... that way you can have a sixth interval between strings 3 and 6. It's also just one half step away from the A6 tuning.
I used to try to conceptualize the B11 tuning as an A6 stacked atop a B9, but now I think of it as an A6 with one string flatted. |

Thanks Ron and Jeff.I tuned it up {with the B on bottom} and found some sweet sounding stuff right away.Love it..I'll try the C# on bottom Jeff.Might be even better.Thanks..
Now I'm looking for something for my other 6 string.I'm trying Sol Ho'opi'i's C#mi,but I would really have to work with it a while to get any thing that works,for me.Maybe the Leavitt tunning..Don't know .Thanks guys..PJ |

| If you've been trying the C#m tuning, you might like the B11 with a C# at the bottom... that way strings 3,4, and 6 will give you the same intervals as strings 1, 2, and 3 of the C#m tuning. |

| If you like the B11, you might want to try the F#9 as a substitute for the C#m. The top four strings are tuned the same as C#m, but strings 5 (A#) and 6 (F#) give you the same type of dominant 9th (-2 frets) in the bass that the B11 does. Dick McIntire went to this tuning from the C#m and later expanded it to seven strings. |

Try the leavitt. It is a great tuning and you can go back and forth to C6
