Fred, we have lots of Black-eyed Peas and Cooked Cabbage leftover from last weekend that we're trying to get rid of. You'd have to buy your own gas to get here but I guarantee you'll have plenty of gas to get back home. Evil Twisted Ray

Ray, Debbie says she will make a delectable appetizer for the troops. I am ready too. I learned a brand new old song.

Fred, I don't think week old cooked cabbage is very safe, do you? I haven't learned any new songs, I can't even remember the ones I know.

Hello Ray and the rest of the gang. I am sorry to have to report that Austin won't be able to make it this time. He has to be in Tulsa to meet up with some new kids that he will be in a band with. A man called us a while back that was looking for a steel picker that wasn't over 14 or 16 years old. He is putting together a Western Swing band of all children. They will be performing at a theater in Tulsa in March. You guys from the club know how well (NOT) that Austin does Western Swing, so he needs all the practice meetings we can get him to. It will be a brand new experience for him (and the demolition of his mother's last nerve Wink )

Hope you all have a fun time. We will miss yall. Rick, I want to hear that new song next time I see ya.

Dana

Dana, maybe Austin can teach us a few of those swing licks after he gets comfortable with this new adventure. Just tell him to stay away from the "Bubbles In My Beer" or he will be in "Deep Water". I thought the steel was a heavy metal instrument. p.s. You guys missed a terrific ice storm meeting last month. I put on my brakes at the Missouri State Line and slid the rest of the way to the Baxter Springs Center. Only a couple of us braved it. Please let us know the dates Austin will be playing..... Debbie is already hounding me to take her.

Wow, that must have been some ride you took on the ice. Glad we got snow that weekend instead of all the ice.

I'll have more info about the swing band later. I have dates now, but they have already changed things on us once, so I will hold off until later to make sure things are settled. We appreciate you guys making an effort to come out and listen.

We sure miss getting together with everyone at the meetings. Hopefully we will be able to make the next one.

Hi Dana, we'll save all the cabbage and blackeyed peas for Austin next month. We'll eat the cake Debbie is bringing instead cause we know that Austin doesn't like cake! Laughing Is that young boy from down around Langley that played at the Tulsa show going to play fiddle in this band? Going to miss you guys but have a good time cause thats what its all about.
Rick, see you and Debbie Sunday and I promise that I'll keep the ice shoveled off the road for you.

Hey Ray. No Austin just hates cake Wink

Yes, the fiddler named Eric that played at Tulsa will be one of the three fiddles in the band. He and Austin have met several times and seem to like each other real well. Austin is a little nervous about all of it because the songs are all arranged and the other kids have already met three times without Austin and Austin has had to work with them through emailed arrangements, (I am about to lose my ever lovin mind over how this has all come down) but he is very excited about getting to work with Eric and other kids his own age. I am sure it will all turn out well in the end.

Hey Dana, so proud of Austin! I'll know that he'll blow them all away and have a lot of fun doing it. By the way, are you guys still going to phoenix? Got a new friend out of Bullhead City,Az. who's going to be there. I told him to say "Hi" to you guys if you're there. His name is Larry Gurley. He played in Wichita back in the 70's. Really nice guy!

We are still working out some details on Arizona, but it looks like things are a go. I'll look forward to meeting your friend if we make it out there.

Ray, I regret to say I must miss again. I have commitments tomorrow that will keep me close to home. Please tell everyone I said hello, and hopefully next month I'll be able to head west.
