I don't need one but I still may buy one..
10" x 7" x 1/1/2 , on board condensor mics, USB , Compact Flash memory, drums, effects, small..records two channels at a time, batteries or AC...3 recording qualities, Wave, and two lessor LV-1/LV-2...
Whats not to like...?
times sure are changing..fast...
A few years back I was using a Boss BR-8 with ZIP disks, it was a great little machine. Evidently this is the BR-8 with the current technology platform...
10" x 7 " , that could almost fit in the Pack-a-seat !

| Tony, I used the BR-8 for several years and just recently moved to the BR-600. I do a lot of collaborating over the internet and the USB port on the BR-600 just makes that easier than ever. I did get a 1GB card for it. This enables you to do a lot more with the virtual tracks. It's so compact and portable (batteries or AC) that I just carry it around the music room to whatever instrument I happen to be working on. Stops a lot of jumping up and down to change settings, punch in/out etc. |

Earl glad to hear you like it. I have a Yamaha AW1628 for my home setup but am considering just getting one of the BR600's to fool with, maybe take to gigs or just general purpose fun...I really like the portability.

Have you guys seen the new MicroBR, its a 4 track the size of an iPod. It has a drum machine and a 'pod' built in too, you can use it as a practice tool slowing down an mp3 file.
Or there is the Zoom H4 it does all of that but it has a good pair of mics and its works as your computer interface.
My head hurts, how can I decide what to get next! |

The Micro BR and the Zoom are also fine tools, and although smaller they serve a different purpose than the BR600.. I have an Edirol R-1 Stereo Wave/MP3 recorder which I use for every gig which also interfaces with the PC. Also a neat gadget.

too many choices..get them all ! |
