That's a lotta loot for a Deluxe6.
A bidding war can do that . .

Lets wait to see if this item gets relisted in a few days. The market doesn't make a jump like that without an explaination.
I bought a Fiesta REd D8 that had the legs still in plastic bags from the factory for half of that selling price.

Yeah, I'll bet there's some eBay shenanigans afoot here. We'll probably see it again in a few days.
George, I'd love to see a photo of your Red Deluxe. What vintage is it? I've never seen a "custom color" single neck.
What does anybody think about the binding on the eBay one? |

I think the "binding" is either paint or vinyl pinstripping.
As to the price, look at the bidding history. Everyone dropped out at $690 for this post-1963 guitar (not a 50's model), except "sarweseth." Fortunately for "sar," he was saved from himself by the dubious wisdom of "binsys," a man who will eventually break even on this guitar if he holds on to it for 5 to 10 years.
My prediction, anyway.

I sold the Fender about a year ago to a fellow in Milan Italy who had a triple neck the same color. He sent me his CD with a picture of him and the two guitars on the cover. His name is Enzo Falzone. He bills himself as the Italian Slide Wizard. Never heard of hime before the sale.

That's for sure - maybe even less than that. Prices of Stringmasters have roughly doubled in the last 2 years. |

Whoever changed the last set of strings did a 'bang-up' job! Strings 3 and 4 are even laying against the side of the tuning pan. |

Looking at the bid history, and seeing what the two "at war" bidders have recently bought, they obviously have a ton of money to spend, and it's not an object.
($1420.00 for a pair of Vox silverbell speakers???)

And now ol' sarweseth is busy jacking up the price of that 57 D8 I got my eye on. He's a busy guy.

Wow... these dueling bidders are not afraid to spend money, sometimes way over market value, especially sarweseth. Both bidders have excellent feedback however.
Maybe the winning bidder just had to own this guitar for personal reasons? Like maybe this was his dad's guitar years ago? Something like that might explain such wild uncontrolled spending.

I see someone's already posted a new listing for a Fender Deluxe S-8. Bet he was watching the Deluxe 6 auction....he has a reserve on the S-8.... |

Yep, he probably thinks it's worth $2400 ($1800 for a 6 string, so . .)

I think sarweseth is the ebay buyer for Guitar Center. That would explain the insane price on their steels.

I wouldn’t buy a (6)-str. steel guitar from anyone, if I planned to use it! (7)-strs. would be my personal minimum!
