YouTube seems to be the greatest thing if you are looking for vintage music video...

Found this clip w/Webb Pierce...who is the steeler. Maybe Ron Elliott? One of the fiddle players looks like Gordon Terry...

Now that I know it's Don, (Thanks Smiles), I can understand the fiddler calling his name before the solo.

It looks like a Push Pull guitar, but I've never seen a logo like that.

That's a D12 MSA. I visiting with Bud Carter at MSA when final assembly and setup was done on that guitar 1968 or 1969.

I guess the end plate just makes it look like a PP.
I shoud have know better, since my first PSG was an MSA S-10 Classic, with similar holes.

Notice the Stevens Style bar.

Don also toured with Hank Jr. about that same timeframe with the the Drifting Cowboys. A player that lived close to me at the time had to have an MSA like that one.Bought one D12, 8+2, paid a lot on it, then decided to get married and sold it to me for $350. Built like a Sherman tank, and almost as heavy. best I remember about 1971.

I used to have an MSA exactly like this one. I bought it from Al Marcus in about 1968. Was my first double neck steel and yes they are heavy, but excellent tone.

The reason I thought of Don Helms was the type of bar he is using.I have never seen anyone but Don, on any of the old shows or vidieos, that uses a dobro bar.
