I've looked and looked for the sheet on
Hold it. Don't even know who gets the Credit. Any help would be appreciated.

It was Clifford Scott and Billy Butler, who also co-wrote "Honky Tonk" with Bill Doggett and Shep Shepherd. Scott was the sax player and Butler was the guitarist for the Bill Doggett Combo. Shoulda known it, since the guitar part was the dominant instrument in the original version. I've been playing "Hold It" since the late 50's. Great tune.

Thank Guys..... No Billy.. I did play bass in and around Michigan... Spent most of my time in MI, Oh, In, Ill..... But now I'm reasting (almost in peace) in Bradenton Fl. Love the sun shine.

Lucky you, Chet. The best of both worlds, Michigan in the summer and fall and Florida in the winter. I have been there and done that, but now we stay in Michigian all year....al
