I bought a DVD of the 3rd taping of Hee Haw.
Faron Young was one of the guests. The steeler in his band played and looked a lot
like Doug Jernigan. The camera never was
clear enough for me to tell. Does anyone
know if that was Doug? If not---Who?

Here it is. I sent the link to Doug just to verify, but he never replied.

Hey Eddie
That is Don Rich, and Doyle Holy also, not sure who the other fiddle player is.

Could it be that the other fiddle man is Ernie Reed ? Currently back with Tillis. |

I just bought that DVD, too. Great stuff. I also bought the one with Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. The live performances on those Hee Haw shows are just incredible. |

There was a fiddler on Hee Haw named Tommy Williams in the '70s. He also played for Mel Tillis for a time. Anyone know if he's still around/ A great fiddler.

I almost didn't recognize Doug that far away from the camera but the dead give away was his distinct right hand. It's one of a kind. |

The fiddler next to Doug looks most like Jim Buchannon, who now is in George Jones' band. |

I vaguely remember that taping with the Sherriff we made back in 1969. The fiddle player standing next to me is Ernie Reed.Don Rich was the other fiddle player. I had been in Nashville for about a year and a half at the time. The bass player was Doyle Holly.
