I don’t really like to post often, but I felt the need to say Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make The Sacred Steel Convention a success: Alvin Lee of The Lee Boys Band, Marcus Hardy and Bob Stone aka Silver Fox or as my kids call him Uncle Bob! The level of musicians, fellowship, and friendship was at an all time high.
I have to say a BIG THANK YOU to our brother Dan Tyack and some of the members of this forum for your support and help in donations to the Sacred Steel Instrument Fund. The guitars were awarded on that Saturday evening. Talented Kids from ages 13 to 20 years old received instruments this year. These kids otherwise could not afford or would have to borrow guitars in order to play. Jim Palenscar I wanted you to know the young man who received your Single12 string donation was so happy he cried most of the night. To all of you who have been so supportive of the fund in guitar and cash donations, Kurt Kowolski, Jim Palenscar, Paul Crawford, Steinar Gregertsen, Russ Young just to name a few THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH and GOD Bless you all

Lonnie,
This sounds awesome! Dan Tyack put me in touch with Dante Harmon (here in Atlanta) to initiate a steel guitar partnership with the GaSGA and the Sacred Steelers here locally. We're in the beginning stages, but hope to have the details available soon. We hope to also incorporate a mentoring component to the ongoing project. What a positive legacy to leave with these young people!!! I am a true believer that many issues facing our children can/will be overcome by music and mentoring.
