Mike, my early 90's Session 400 LTD is having issues. I recently replaced the basket thinking either the speaker or cone was the problem. I tried to use the amp on a session last weekend and the problem is still there, especially in the studio. Sounds like a speaker crackling sound, very apparent at louder volumes. What would you suggest I check next?
Thanks

Hello Ken, since you have checked the speaker and it seems to be working properly, I recommend that you have a qualified technician test the electronics. Without bench testing the amp, I would only be guessing at it.

If you wish to call me with your amp and guitar hooked up, I will be glad to check somethings with you on the phone. My toll free number is 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1180. I am in the office from 8am to 5pm CST Monday through Friday.

"Ok you Peavy bashers; where else can you get service like that? CC"

Way to go CC I have known that Peavey not only makes the best and most usable amps in the biz since the middle 70's but also sound better all around than any other amp around.

I have strayed from the flock only once and I paid thru the nose for 2 amps (I play stereo)and although they sounded ok they were completly broken down and unusable after 1 year of road work.

Heck I still have a Peavey amp from the 70's that works just fine and all of the tolex (sp) covering is in tact even after several years of being tossed around under several buses.

There ya go I've wanted to do a Peavey commercial for years LOL. Keep up the good work Mike and thanks for sending me the knobs.

Ken If I may butt in, try your verb connections. I had a Nashville 400 that did the same thing once.

Wow!. As a new member, your response to my question regarding delay units has been great. After reviewing your comments, I purchased a DD3. It is simple to use while producing outstanding results. Thanks for your imput.
