I sure appreciate the way this place is run. I recently quit another guitar forum (IGS) because the place simply imploded over the last month with political threads, flamewars and general nuttiness/conspiracy theory BS.

This is a wonderful place to talk and learn about lap steels and lap style playing!

Hey Mike,

I agree, this is really a nice place to be...and yeah, it's gotten nuts over there.

We have had our share of trouble makers here too. They were eliminated by our "TOP HONCHO" "BIG BAD b0b" The guy Jody refers to as, THE SHERIFF.

Though, as some of you know, I have been active in a couple of (cough, cough) "debates" lately, I have to say that b0b was great about the whole thing. He took great pains and several emails to explain to me, a relative newbie, about some of the issues of the past. He's a great guy and, knowing what I know now, I have to agree with his policies. This is a wonderful place and a grand resource for everyone, especially new players like myself. I'd like to add a hearty "THANK YOU" as well.

As much as I love this forum and appreciate the work Brad and b0b are doing here, I just counted the 'bad' threads over at IGS and of the 35 threads on the frontpage there are only 3 that can be considered ugly (and I admit having contributed to one of them myself... ehm...).

I believe a lot of people are quite 'high strung' these days, and it's hard to avoid these outbursts of political/religious flaming,- which makes it even more impressive that this place is as clean as it is.

Jolly good job, ol' chaps!!
