I always run an RV-3 between my steels and my amps. I use either an Evans FET-500 or a PV Nash 400 or 1000, but not two amps together, and several different brands of steels. I've noticed that the RV-3 acts sort of like a steel driver buffer unit or something even with it off...it seems to clean up the sound, giving me better tone and string separation. Now most of the time I just leave it off and use the amp reverb, but I use it on a slight reverb/delay setting for slower ballads.

Have any other RV-3 users out there noticed this? Just curious.

When I had mine I noticed to same thing, but since I got my Evans and my Hilton I quit using mine. I even traded it to another forum member for things I did need.

Jody, I use a Boss RDD-20 half rack delay unit, and I have noticed how it brightens things up, even on bypass.
