Since this is still a fairly new pickup and many folks have not yet tried it, we'd suggest asking Al Brisco (email: steelcan@steelguitarcanada.com ) this as he has tried them and has them on his new Carter.

Wayne. I put one of these in A Zum and in an Emmons LeGrande II and they worked great in both of these guitars. In fact, I think I might like this one even better than the L-710. I've heard these these work really great in the Carter steel too. In any case, I don't think you would be disappointed.

Yes, I have been using the new XR-16 pickups since March of this year....& really like them....smooth with a balanced sound.
I have been ordering them in all my new Carter orders.

I just put a xr 16 in my Carter & its seems to have a little more ballsy tone than my e66 had. They say its (all in the hands) so I guess this p/u is good for my hands too because it sure makes my steel sound better!!!

ps. I really like my Carter!!
