It's copyprotected so I won't buy it, though I liked what I have heard from it so far.

| They supposedly named themselves after Willie Nelson. The lead guitarist is Jim Campilongo, who has a long history playing with Joe Goldmark in Jim Campilongo and the Ten Gallon Cats. |

I missed it unfortunately, but I read recently that Norah, Jim, and Bobby played some Bay Area gigs in an earlier version of the Little Willies.

| Actually Bobby I usually won't buy that type CD either. I like to put the songs on my hard drive as it is the only listening device in the house, so I can put the collection of songs there on random and have music all day. I also make a lot of mix CD's for my car, and don't like to take original CD's to the car as they get damaged too easily. This one, though, I decided to go ahead and get. |

That looks like a cool record. I'll have to check it out. Love Norah Jones.
I was looking at the Amazon site, and saw another record that I didn't know about...New York City, the Peter Malick Band featuring Norah Jones.
Peter Malick played guitar with the James Montgomery Band back in the 70's. That was a great band, and Malick is a heck of a player. I last saw him in the 80's sitting in at a gig in NYC, and this is the first I've heard about him since then. I'd imagine that he and Norah teaming up would make for some tasty blues  |

I picked it up this weekend after seeing something on tv about it. This is a great project. Nora's voice is just so pure. Her music is very polished and she is just a delight to see and hear.
I hope she does well with it.

Bobby,
No, I don't copy CDs. But I don't want to deal with a record company that considers it's customers to be thieves, I don't want viruses on my computer because some majors think they would be an appropriate way to make their CDs "safe" (they don't), I want to play my CDs on every CD-player I own (incl. my PC and my car) and apart from that I still have a right to copy the CD for my own use.
You can't make your product worse for whatever reasons and expect people to accept it or else f*** off. I rather buy CD from small labels who respect their customers.

Sooner or later, some "computer genius" will come up with a simple conversion program or device. It'll convert digital CD's to an analog (.wav) file, and then convert them automatically back into digital format, thereby negating any type copy protection they put on the CD. |

I don't see anywhere on this CD or the packaging where it is copy-protected. Doesn't it have to say on the CD, all mine has on it is the "FBI ANTI-PIRACY WARNING".
I just made a copy for my truck and loaded it on my MP3 player. So far it seems to copy just fine. |

Alvin, the copyprotect technology doesn't prevent you from copying the disc,....it slowly lets the air out of your tires....   |

| Since my original post I have also seen a copy for sale that is not copy protected. They have added features on the copy protected units, which I can understand. |

Well, at least here in Germany the Little Willies-CDs have the copy protection logo printed on the back.

It's funny how Jim Campilongo takes a tone normally associated with blues and makes it sound country. It's dark and it distorts, but it's right!
I saw Merle do the same thing recently. It really shattered my notions about tone and genre. What matters is how you play, not which tone you use. You have to balance with the band, of course, but playing the right notes with heart is more important musically than nailing the perfect "country tone" (whatever that is).
