I was overwhelmed a few minutes ago when I received a phone call from an old friend I haven't seen or talked to for over 40 years. Slim Dossey called me. Some of you older forumites will remember him as the singer with a truly velvet voice who sang with the Sons Of The Pioneers, Jimmy Wakely, Tex Williams, Smokey Rogers, etc. I played on a recording session with Slim in Los Angeles in the mid 60's including four of his original songs. I played steel on "Nothing But My Pride" (Slim's favorite), and his beautiful "Wish I Knew" (my favorite). The other side of "Wish I Knew" was an up-tempo song I played guitar on called "Gotta Roll Gotta Ramble" Slim was a friend of Joaquin, Noel, Speedy, and most of the West Coast steelers and musicians. It was really a breath of fresh air from the past for me; it literally made my day.

It's good to be remembered.

Yes, Mr. Dossey is a real gentleman. I see him in WA. when we have our Western Swing Society Hall of Fame in August.

Roy, I do remember Slim. I was in Southern Calif. from 52 to 58. Thanks for the memories.

Roy,
Tell Slim hello for me..I last saw him in St Louis several years ago...glad to know he is still 'riding the range'..I enjoy his work..have an album by him..good music...
He was working some with Bud and Jeri Isaacs..They were doing a show in "Hayden Lake", Idaho ???
Too much time..can't remember the details...anyway , if you should see him, shake his neck and hug his hand for me...

RP..'come on in'
