Janice,
Which organization is this? I'm surprised Charlie Pride wasn't in already.

I've been grinning since I heard the news this morning. I am really proud that I was his guitar player for 22 yrs. I can only imagine what Faron would say about this honor. I can't speculate because this is a family forum. He would be very touched and pleased. Just one more thought, not very original. These awards need to be given to artists while they are ALIVE it just might make a difference in their LIVES. Richard

Richard I am so glad they did it while especially you were alive. I know how you must feel... When I first heard it I had to re-read it over and over to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I didn't hold back any tears either. I can go see Faron again.

Faron set the tone for a lot of singers to follow. He was always known for having a very good road band, too.

Anyone that can put up with Odell Martin and Bobbe Seymour deserves the HOF

Richard,
Waylon Jennings recorded a tune on the "Old Dogs" project. The title, or at least the "hook" is: "Nashville is Rough on Her Living, but She Sure Speaks Well of Her Dead."

What richard said,I have two of Faron's tapes, I play regular.
Man you talk about a quality voice, Faron ,had it.
I am happy to know a steel player in my home town that played for Faron ,in the Army, And was ASK to continue,But did'nt for personal reasons, Mr Roy Lumm a very nice man.

Mr Roy Lumm has several pitcures of him and Faron And the band,

I think he told me Faron had just got one of his hit songs out when the Army call.

Also I am very proud of another Missippippi product, Charle Pride .

Charle ,is country to the bone and has been able to do what no other of his race has been able to do,he for sure deserved to win the award
Richard ,Im sure you will alway have alittle peice of the Faron Young award in your heart ,for behind every good singer ,there has got to be a good band, for wich you Richard, was a part.
