I have tab for Bud's Bounce by Tom Brumley, but I would like a sound clip for the second part... I have pretty much figured out the first part.. it's the phrasing I need.. thanks... John

Thanks Ryan, Check your e-mail... I had the Tom Cattin Cassette, but put it away so it wouldn't get lost, & I guess I put it away too good..
Terry I never heard Winnies version, but I would think that there are many artists that must have recorded it over the years.. But Tom's is the only tab that I have..

Winnie's tab is in his classic Oak Pedal Steel book.

An interesting bit of trivia is the rights were owned by a company Chet Atkins setup in his wife's name, for tax reasons I suspect.

He let Winnie use it for a very small fee.

That's right Joey, it's in Winnie's and Bill Keith's book. I still have the record with Winnie burnin it up on Bud's bounce, and also "Nashville to Bakersville" another string melter.

I believe a version of Bud's Bounce is also on one of the Emmons E9th courses. I know I have it three different ways, one on Tom Brumley's "Tom Cattin" CD, alsp on the Tom Cattin' LP, (also onBuck Owens LP "I Don't Care" - 1963), the second version is on the floppy record that came with Winnie's book which I bought in 1977, and the third is either in the Emmons course, or on a Buddy Emmons LP. I will look tonite to find out.

Thanks, still looking to no avail..I usually do this with most of the things I don't want to lose.. As a matter put away so well that that I can't find them.. Did Winnie tab it out in E or F ?? for some reason F seems to ring a bell.... John

I am not sure if this will be helpful, but Lloyd Maines teaches an interesting version on his,"Hot Pedal Steel" video. It is in the key of "E". Tab is included.

F is the most common key for it.

Herby Wallace had a fantastic version on one of his earlier courses, "Learn 10 songs on E9th" or something like that. It has the basic sounds of Bud Isaacs and he also added an interesting ad lib to it. Anything Herby does is great, anyhow!!
