This is a short up tempo E9 lick using what I call a forward roll. That is, Thumb>index>middle fingers. I play the first note with the index, then follow the pattern above. Of course each person may have his own preference. Key of G.

You could use the same basic idea to string a longer phrase together using other "G" positions, such as the 6th fret with the "A" pedal and lever that raises the 4th string a half step.
