Any UFO sightings out there? I'm looking for two flying saucer control knobs for a mid '50 Rickenbacker and would appreciate any help in locating these rare items, Thank you.

Howdy Harley,
Yea, I'm still a pickin' and a grinin', but this steel guitar thing has really got a hold on me. How 'bout you, seen any U.F.O's lately or maybe had a alien abduction?

Seems I do remember someone on the forum was casting new knobs. Maybe Rick Aiello?

Thanks for the suggestion, I contacted Rick and he was very helpful
Still lookin' for some originals though.
White or Black in color would be great!
Were these also radio knobs or were they only found on Rickenbachers guitars?

I have found radio knobs on Ebay to restore some Gibson and National steels but I have never seen any Rick flying saucer knobs at auction. That leads me to helieve that they were only made for Rickenbacher/Rickenbacker.
A few years ago I bought a Rickenbacher Ace on Ebay. It had no tuners or pickup, but it did have two perfect white flying saucer knobs. I think I payed about $45 for it and consider that a bargain, since rare, vintage knobs sometime go for over $100 each. I used one of them to restore a near mint prewar Silver Hawaiian.

Don't need to worry about "Trademarks" here

I give these to my friends ... I never sell 'em.

Rick, I'm looking forward to it or them as it were!
That's quite a Flying Saucer Invasion. I haven't a clue which is the real one.
