Behringer P2. I have another back up system; Audio Technica I think, but no better. That one has a 9V AC adapter in case the battery dies on the P2. The P2 low battery warning only gives you a minute or two heads up. The big difference is in the earbuds and the seal. I use Audio Technica ATH 70. I made custom ear molds with the Radion kit from Amazon. Makes the buds more comfortable and seals the stage volume out so that you can use your ears at a lower volume.

I use a little Yamaha MG06 mixer. I bring in my Kemper for steel and Pod XT live for tele into each stereo channel, then I bring the band mix from the FOH console (minus me) into the XLR input. Lets me hear my effects in stereo, makes me think I sound better.  |

I use one of those, too. I put the monitor mix in one channel and use an omnidirectional mic in the mic channel to get the sound of the stage to make it all sound real. With the Shure earbuds blocking 37db, I can listen at a safe level. I'd be done playing if I hadn't gone to this setup.

| I typically use a Rolls PM351 so I can independently adjust the levels of the guitar, my vocal mic, and the 'band mix minus my guitar and vocals' separately. The noise floor isn't great on it, but when playing I don't even notice it. I sometimes plug straight into the headphone jack, and sometimes I use it to feed a wireless transmitter. |
