I want to replace my keyhead on my 10 string pedal steel. String height is 1" from wood to string at the nut.

Any recommendations?

Mike, that is not the keyhead your picture is showing, that is the changer system, keyhead is at the other end of the guitar, are you wanting to change the finger changer?

Yes I understand. I am just showing the string height. Smile

I've changed the photo to prevent confusion.

George Boards is making composite keyheads, maybe he could make one for you, a Sho-Bud style keyhead could work, keep an eye out for one on ebay, you want one with rollers in it.

Easiest key head design I've ever seen was on the original MSA PSG's.
I think that these from HR maple could also be option which could be done in a home-shop.

A key head like MSA used on the Classic series, This guitar has the Nut Roller free standing with 2 bolt up from the bottom of the guitar. Not attached to the neck like the MSA Classic.
In setting the angel of the tuner bars make sure the keys align with rollers, So the string goes straight over the roller to the key on the key head.
