I have some opportunities coming my way regarding this and am looking for advice on what works for people when doing the work. What doesn’t work or anything I should avoid? I plan on doing most of the work remotely and studio work when local to my area.

What is the approach that works for you when taking on session work?

Any tips or suggestions?

I’m curious about rates. Please dm if you feel inclined to share. I’m new to doing the work but feel my chops are ready enough and I could be a good layer for some bands based on the situation. I don’t want to sell myself short being newer but also don’t want to overcharge either. Just wondering what the standard market rates are for most players .

usually; when asked, I say I charge $50.00 a song for Local type CD sales. $75.00 a song for more regional/promotional CD sales. $100.00 a song for more Record label type music sales.
