Just saw Charlie Pride do Louisiana Man on FB and was wondering who the Steel Player was. It was from 1969, I don't think it was Gene O'Neal. Maybe Lloyd ? Be nice if someone could post the song. |

He’s using a stevens tone bar as his capo. The kind that’s square nosed and flat on top with contours on the top and sides. The kind of bar Kayton Roberts used. That’s what the older steel players around here told me was a thing they started doing once back then.

Thanks so much for posting Bill. And thanks Steve for identifying Gene. Haven't seen too many pictures of Gene over the years, I know he passed away pretty young. |
