Doubt I'll be building another soon because there is too much to finish on my plate now.
Usually keep my drink on the lower deck by the key head on both my SD-10's.

Remember the post a few weeks by Mr. Tommy White, He ordered his new Mullens with the E9th on the back neck and C6th on the front neck.

There is a lot of reasons that makes sense to put the neck on the back of a Double Body. First your hands are over your thighs, Not out over your feet, Less back tension and stress.

Putting the neck on the back should be more tuning stable. Having the back apron for support, With no pedal pull and stress like the front apron has by design.

If the open neck is on the back, All you can do is put a pad on it.
With the open neck on the front, There is a 5"X30" table. Add a lock on extension in the center, Set Lap Top Computer, Or a stand for a tablet, For music and chord charts.
Ash Tray, Drink holder, Tuner, Bar and Pick holder arranged around the computer or tablet. For some people a place to see cell phone screen.

Another thing to consider, Allowing a person to adjust their wrist for the most comfortable position for fingers to move more freely and accurate.

That looks like a place where it would be knocked off within a couple of minutes (and I see your D'Angelico in there too).

Can't disagree with what you said except that we've all seen even worse things done.
You might well be right about where the player might be now? I'd not thought that far ahead. Very Happy

I've never lost a drink, but maybe thats because I usually sit in the back.
Also it's a Korean "D'Angelico" that I'd bought because I love that style and needed something that wouldn't feed back when playing rhythm.
Wish it had been a real D'Angelico or D'Aquisto, but that would be beyond my financial ability. Very Happy

Here is a better photo of that Korean D'Angelico. Plays and sounds very good.
Also some photos of some I've built back in the 90's with D'Angelico styling in mind.
