Some picking at my place the other day and between songs I heard occasional light clicking and whistle sounds from my amp. I checked everything and it still happened. After a break it stopped. A couple days later we were back and the guitar pickers amp did the sounds and mine was behaving fine.
The next morning I was back picking by myself and the sounds started over. I went through everything I could think of. Changed all my cords, took out reverb and pedals, no luck.
Finally, I moved my phone off the top of my amp and the noise went away.
IT WAS MY PHONE, laying on top of my amp. _________________ You can observe a lot just by looking |

Yup. Cell phones will do that. I have had it happen on both my Nashville 400 and Nashville 112. My guitar and bass player have had it happen on tube amps too. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . My phone sounds come through my hearing aids. Usually not an issue, but can be annoying when I’m singing and someone leaves a message about my truck warranty or Medicare supplement. _________________ 67 Shobud Blue Darling III, scads of pedals and such, more 6 strings than I got room for

A wired phone, one that plugs into a wall. |

I used to tell the kids at church that I could make my head whistle.
Then I would blow into my right fist ... and of course nothing would happen, so I would tell them I didn't get it right ... let me try again.
Then I would blow into my right fist, and cup the ear with the hearing aid with my left hand, making the aid feed back.
Sometime I wonder if I could play Purple Haze on that ear.

Back in the late forties we were rehearsing on a very warm humid Sunday afternoon.
There were thunderstorms in the area. I was playing a BR-9 Gibson lap steel thru a BR-9 amp.
I had left my bar at home and was using a table knife.
Taking a break I laid the knife on top of the amp. Suddenly the Detroit Tiger ball game came on my amp. I was never able to duplicate this again. |

Willis, I believe you discovered cutting edge technology, Lol. I have had a variety of different radio reception issues at different locations. I discovered the phone and laptop clicking long ago. Some amps are worse than others. |

Back in December of 1969, my parents gave me my own telephone line for my 16th birthday. They got tired of me hogging the family phone all the time.
When I left home, I took that number with me. Earlier this year, I finally dropped that old land line. Nothing but robo-calls.
I had the number for darn near 55 years!
