I own a Regal RD40 guitar that dates to the early-mid 1990’s. After many years I’ve decided to change the cone, spider and split saddle. I’ve been considering Beard products, but willing to consider other quality components.

If you can make recommendations, compatible with my brand and model guitar, it is greatly appreciated.

Keep on pickin’!
Glenn

Beard parts would be my recommendation.

I am very happy with the cones I received from them. They got here last week perhaps 5 days after speaking with Bobbi on the phone. Good outfit.

I have a Regal from around the same era as the one you have, I think it's the same model too. I lent it to a friend of mine and he accidently dropped it and caved in the back on the side where the tailpiece is, which damaged the spider and the cone. Another friend of mine who is a luthier looked at it and told me that I should just use it for parts. I got him interested in working on it by telling him I wanted him to change it into an open post design as opposed to the sound well design that was in it. He used all Beard parts on it and rebuilt it to be an open post Dobro. It came out sounding better than it ever has. It sounds great now and is noticeably louder. IMHO, Beard parts are the way to go!
