I've looked and looked and can not find out what the scale length was on the MSA SuperSlide lap steels. I used the Wayback Machine to look at MSA's site in 2007 & 2011 and oddly they never mention the scale length.

Anyone know what the scale length is?

Thanks!

Hi Tony,

I think the MSA Superslide has a 22,5 scale length.
I own several Superslides and they have all a 22,5
scale. I play 12 and 8 stringers.

Greetings Regina

Thanks! From the photos I've seen they looked shorter than 24.5".

What tuning do you use on your 12 string?

scale length is 22.5. I have a 12 and a double 12 both of which have been converted to 10 strings.

I play the Reece Anderson C6 on my 12 string Superslide. The 12th string I tune to C instead of D.
I came fron pedal steel to the lap steel. Don`t want
to haul around a heavy PSG anymore.
The low C note is more useful for me. But with a twist on the tuning peg the low D is there.
It is possible to get E9 and C6 sounds out of this tuning.
My tuning is: D B G E C A G E C A F C (high to low).
The first and second strings are lower than the third string (G).

My 8 stringer is tune to E 13.

Do you own a Superslide? 12 string or 8 string?
For the Superslide is the best lap steel, but this my opinion.

Regina,

I do not own a SupleSlide. My next slide guitar will be a 10 or 12 string but I am just doing research at this time.

Thanks!
