If you're interested in seeing a stringmaster in a swing trio, there's a link to Sweet Georgia Brown in the Steel on the Web section. I hope y'all enjoy it! https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=379211

I played that style for about 15 years on guitar. Your "pompe" is swinging hard. As a relative newbie to steel, I dig the playing with the side of pinkie and I'm going to learn that, as I can't really play guitar for a little while. The solos are slamming too. Love it.

Thanks for the inspiration. I love trio's. A real challenge without a drummer. You guys are great! I am especially interested in the way you are comping chords during the guitar solo. I'm new to steel so this is how I learn. Thanks again!

Thanks y'all! About the comping: I've tried several different ways to do it, and they all have pros and cons. Sometimes, it seems to sound better to not even fret any notes, and just have a kind of "chunk" from muted strings. I do like to do it the way I did it in the video, though, because you are actually playing chords behind the soloist, but you're still keeping the heavy beat. It can get tricky to have it at just the right volume, though. I'll probably always be experimenting with different ways to do things, but the journey's half the fun, right? Smile
