Please restrict threads about events in the Event Announcements section to essential facts about the event. The thread title should include the name of the event and the location. Every opening post should additionally contain the date(s) and time(s), detailed information about the location. Other essential facts - such as who's playing, performer schedule, and other facts that potential attendees need to make decisions about whether to attend - should be included in this same thread.
To this last point - there have recently been a proliferation of threads about single events. Please limit the number of threads about a single event - add to the existing thread rather than create a new one unless there is some type of major issue that needs special highlighting. For example, a cancellation, change in date/time, change in venue, or something like that. There are a lot of events - and hopefully a lot more as we emerge from the pandemic - and they all deserve a place in the sun - i.e., the front page.
This is just a bit more detail about the guidelines that b0b established a long time ago, which you can read here - https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=164631 - but just to reiterate:

Please post complete information about events.
The location of the event should be included in the Subject line to preserve bandwidth.
Topics that aren't really "steel guitar event announcements" may be moved or deleted by the moderators.
Thank you for your cooperation. |

Any topic that can't answer these 4 questions isn't really an event, so it doesn't belong in this Event Announcements section.
Who?
What?
Where?
When? |

Posts that aren't events are subject to removal. |
Thanks in advance. |

A reminder: Every event must have a location clearly stated in the title of the thread, and other critical details - type of event, date, and time - in the first post of the thread. Please do not leave it to members (or moderators) to have to hunt to figure this stuff out.
If we can't figure out who, what, when, and where about an event by simply reading the title and first post, the thread will be deleted. |
