Hi,
I have a Ltd with a new Eminence speaker with a great tone that I love, however it crackles when the lower end volume is increased. Also at idle it has a slight hum but doesn't increase with volume.
Any ideas or suggestions great appreciated.
Thank you.

Andy..The crackle may be the result of a slightly dirty volume pot. When left in one position for a while, they occasionally develop this problem. With the amp off, you might try rotating the knob from fully on to fully off a few times. If that fails, removing the chassis and spraying the pot(s) with 'Deoxit' cleaner/LUBE should do the trick...If your guitar is equipped with single coil pickups, neon bulbs or other appliances that are on the same circuit as the outlet that you are using may be the cause of the hum. Moving the amp to a another location in the room or plugging it into a different outlet may help. |

Hum, if it does it with nothing connected, could be a poor Molex connector connection or considering the age of the amp its probably due for new power supply capacitors. |

Hi John,
Hope all is well with you?
Yes I do like (love) the tone and weight of the Eminence. To me it's JBLish.
When I contacted Mike Johnson he said for his Ltd he has the Eminence EPS15C.
Thank you |
