I have decided to part with my Vintage late 1940s Alamo Futurama Double 8 Steel Guitar. Has two necks with 8 strings on each neck and three original legs and hard shell case. I'll part with it for $600 plus you pay the shipping and insurance. I had Gene Turner of Kentucky who is a genius on winding pickups to make me a set of custom made pickups to match the original pickups. Everything else is original. Gene Turner made custom pickups for many Steel Guitarists and the BMI Steel Guitar Company for years. The new pickups are far better than the original ones. If interested in this classic steel guitar contact me and leave a voice message. My number is 417-241-9455. No trades price is firm!

This is a Great Steel Guitar and it's long scale. If your in to playing non pedal Steel Guitar this is your guitar. Everything is original, except the pickups. As mentioned these newer pickups custom built make it sound much better than the original ones.

The Alamo Steel Guitars were made in San Antonio. The Southern Music Company was founded around 1947 by Charles Eilenberg. This Model was called "The Futurama Dual Eight!" The scale is longer on it, so it sounds great. I recorded a Steel Guitar CD with it but I am primarily a Pedal Steel Guitarist.

My first amp was an Alamo (1964). I still have the cabinet but the speaker is shot and the guts are long gone.

Cool ad Mike, first one I have ever seen. It's quite a unique Steel Guitar. It sounds so much better after I had Gene Turner custom make new pickups for her.

Hi Terry- Is the logo in good shape on the front of the guitar? All tuning keys working well? Do the legs telescope for playing while standing? I’m interested in purchasing. Thanks Randall

Randall, yes Logo on front good shape and telescope legs that are adjustable.

Mike Harris, I haven't got to the measurement yet. We have been doing restoration on a house, and dealing with a lot the past few days. Will try to measure it soon.

I've dropped the selling price to $600 plus the buyer pay the shipping and insurance.

Thanks!

For the serious buyer, I have a CD that I recorded using the Alamo Steel Guitar. The Steel Guitar Sounds Great!

The reason I'm selling it, down sizing. My son and I have 3 Pedal Steels, Resonator Guitar, 4 Guitars, 3 Bass Guitars, 4 violins or fiddles, 2 Keyboards, 2 trumpets, 1 banjo, 1 Ukelele, full set of drums and cymbals and a U.S. Regulation bugle. Plus a lot of Recording equipment. You'd think we own a Music Store. LOL

Please leave a voice message and number if you want to contact me. I literally get dozens of robo and scam calls daily. I'm supposed to be retired but I'm working on various jobs too. I don't check my email on the Steel Forum that often. Thanks!

Thanks for your interest and patience with me!
