Here's a little bit of Django for C6th lap steel. The head and ending for "Blues for Ike." Improvise on blues in A. Check out Django's original version on YouTube recorded at his final session where he weaves brilliant be-bop inflected lines through the chord progression.

Enjoy! Happy holidays!

Thanks, Andy!

Could you link to the Youtube version you're referring to for this version?

Here's a MIDI file of the above arrangement: https://sendmusic.com/music/jIo5S

Here's a smoking version by the Rosenbergs where they lay out the melody well at the start.

Thanks for sharing! The Rosenberg rendition is a virtuoso tune but too fast for me.

Ah......gotcha. That's why I asked which version, as Django never plays the head in the 1953 recording.......just answers the bass, which plays the head.

Thanks!

Welcome! The 2nd page is Django's tag ending which I guess, most people just ignore and reprise the head. Yes, the bass takes the melody in the original - I forgot about that. Smile
