I am wondering.....what year did Fender switch from point-to-point hand wiring to printed circuit boards in their amplifers?

Some time in the late 80's or early 90's. Still using eyelet boards through the Rivera period in the 80's. The Blues Deluxe/DeVille were circuit boards.

1986 or 1987. The "red knob" amps (Actually, the ill-fated solidstate "Zodiac" amps from the late 60s/early 70s were circuit board amps, but we don't like to mention those).

To be picky about it, Fender never used true "point-to-point" wiring beyond the early woodie amps from the 1940s. All the tweed through silverface amps used fiber eyelet boards.

My woody Model 26 already had a perf board replacement in it... it's my understanding that the original board was eyelet, here's a still from a video:

And here's the video link:

I did hack on mine a little, in the '70s... I put a 9pin socket with a BF Bassman preamp section, improved it greatly (the Mic control became the bass).

I stand corrected. It's likely that there was an evolution with the woody amps. Leo probably realized pretty quickly that it was more efficient to build amps using an eyelet board.

Here's one from 1946 that's point-to-point:

This one works... wow! Definitely a different amp... and it uses the (much weaker) 6K6GT instead of the 6V6GT.

NOT according to Rob Robinette:
https://robrobinette.com/Fender_Deluxe_Models.htm
He shows it using 2 x 6V6s.
What a great looking cabinet!
I guess one could consider turret-board-wired amps as not true point-to-point, but the difference is minute compared to a full-on PCB-wired amp.
