Since i traded my S-10 Carter for a D-10 Carter, i've noticed that my right hand seems
sloppier somehow and playing back a video of a show i played on the S-10, it looks like i kept better height above the strings than i do on the D-10. Guess it must be easier to relax the right hand and let it rest more on the C6th neck on the double. Somehow i can't help but feel that my right hand was more accurate on the S-10. Appreciate any feedback
on this. TJH |

When I think of good RH technique, three names come to mind: Joe Wright, Jeff Newman, and Maurice Anderson
Is it a coincidence that all three are single neck players?

David, sorry to hear of your nerve damage, and i too have damage from diabetic neuropathy
and i admire all the same heroes you mentioned in your post. It just seems somehow that i had better control of what my fingers were striking with the S-10. Guess i'm one of those lazy players that let my elbow drop to a lower plane that the level of the C6th neck, and i've noticed that the great players all seem to keep their elbows elevated sopmewhat above the plane of the C neck. Of course like i do everyhting else, i didn't learn the proper technique when i first started. Bless you and take good care.
