Here's a cool project that's been laying around for a while. We decided to sell it as is to someone with the time it deserves to get it going. The guitar has water damage to the lacquer finish on the front in a few places, has rust underneath on the E9 changer, this is a triple raise/triple lower guitar. 8 pedals 4 knees, Serial number is 2C6681. Could be resurrected for a player, possible U12 with loafer pad? among other ideas, or used for parts for other projects. Comes with ohsc which is rough to look at but still sturdy enough to use.The guitar in the case weighs in at 70.5 lbs Asking $995.00 plus shipping/handling/insurance add 3% for paypal

may i ask about how much that guitar weighs in the case? thx
PS look and see how much rust is in the changer fingers under those rusted springs. they are not made of aluminum. they and the changer axle shaft are steel. do you know any history on the water damage? ive seen steels with water damage sitting in the case when a room flooded and water got in the case.

Looks like a great project. I owned a Vintage XL for a while that was a good guitar. |

Bill, the story we got was pretty much what your describing, the guitar was in the case setting with the handle side up, water came up to the first neck level! |

Rick,
Is the rear neck functional? Maybe the bell ranks/pull rods from the front neck could be moved to the rear and a nice 12 string experimental tuning could evolve. Even if a truss had to be installed under the front neck to deter any body flex. Just a thought. _________________ RETIRED

hi Marty, we had planned on making a SD-12u by removing the E9 changer and using the C6th changer on the front neck. All the bell cranks, rods, sets and cross shafts are useable. More than enough to make it work. The front apron is warped slightly. However, the MSA has an aluminum frame work that is the main structure support on these guitars. I don't believe the front apron would cause any issues other then cosmetics. the only unusable part is the E9th changer. Too rusted to warrant a complete dismantle clean and reassemble. Hope this answers your questions. If you need more info, feel free to PM your phone number and I'll give you a call. please remember, our shop is closed due to the covid 19 quarantine. But I do answer emails, and voice mails every couple days.
THANKS
