Got my big fat baby back today
Retubed/biased, general clean up. Existing Illinois caps will last another five years before an upgrade. Took the old D130 out into safe storage, replaced it with a reconed E130 (better choice for steel anyway, I reckon). D130 was starting to sound a bit tired, but it’s still OK, so I figure I’ll save it from further abuse.
Sounds better than ever, looking forward to pressing her back into regular-ish service when we start playing out again

Looks like a great amp. Has character and no doubt tone to the bone. Enjoy it for years to come. |

Yes, that is a great amp.
I have one like that and also a Fender "Custom" Vibrasonic amp. This is the model with the dedicated steel channel, ideal for pedal steel.
This model is hard to come by as it was only produced for a couple of years.

Jeremy,
This is one of the later models.
This is a "Custom" Vibrasonic with the steel channel.
Fender brought in Bruce Zinky to design this amp and it was built in Fender's factory in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
It was only made for a couple of years, sometime around '94-95.
There is some confusion with these amps, some Vibrasonic and some are Vibrosonic.
It is black face with black Tolex.

Jeremy,
I really like the amp.
I was having trouble with the reverb so am going through that now.
The tubes checked out ok and am now waiting for a replacement reverb tank and transformer.
Hope this will get it up to speed again.
I have a reconed D130 speaker in mine.
