nv1000 serial #50320708 which reverb tank i put a mod # 9eB2CiB -6 spring in cant stand it cant remember what came in it maybe you can help thanks mike.

That appears to be the correct impedance for Peavey amps.
It's what I used to replace my old '89 NV400 Accutronics tank.
Interestingly, the old Accutronics tank was stamped 9FB3C1B which doesn't show up anywhere on any search.

I don't know if the NV1000 used a different number. There's really no absolute way to tell except by taking the number off the old Accutronics unit. However, this MOD replacement 9EB2C1B seems to be the one everybody is using to replace their Peavey tank.
Could yours be defective? When did you install it? |

| Well the type 4 is also a long, medium decay tank but only having 2 springs where the type 9 has 3. It would seem to follow that the type 9 would have more shimmer...I defer to the experts however. Hope you get it all worked out. |

| I ordered a new NV1000, with the 3 spring reverb, from the local Peavey dealer. He had a demo NV1000 with the 2 spring reverb that he let me use until my ordered amp arrived. I don't recall noticing any difference in reverbs between the two. Back in that time I was using the reverb in the amp and a Boss DD-5 for delay. |

thanks guys i cant turn the reverb up over 2 sounds really dark could it be this amp needs to be rewired? for this tank. like an idiot i sold my 75 twin with jbl d120f orange speakers with split cab by rick johnston.what does everbody turn their knob too? im in a small room would that make a difference?

The 3 indicates long decay where the 2 digit is medium decay. I did not see that model when I ordered mine. I just went by the recommendation of others here.
I don't know enough about these to know what would be the sonic differences between a medium and a long decay pan nor which is more desirable.
I'm sure someone here can tell us though. |

What happens when you turn it past 2 that it's causing you trouble? Does it howl, feedback, crash or what?
It might help others to know how it's behaving above the 2 setting. I'm certainly no expert here on this issue, but people like Ken Fox and others may be able to draw some conclusions from that description. |

thanks jerry if i go past 2 it gets too dark my old tank was 2 spring 4EB2CIB MY practice room is real small could this be causing this? i replaced it with mod reverb 9EB2CIB 6 SPRING 3 HOOKED TOGETHER IN THE MIDDLE THANKS AGAIN

They are called 2-spring tanks and 3-spring tanks (although there are really 4 springs in the 2-spring tank, and 6 springs in the 3-spring tank). The 3-spring tank has a fuller sound, and more low-end response. The 2-spring tank has more highs and clarity. The actual difference, though, can be hard to discern, depending on how you have the tone set on your amp.
If your amp reverb sounds "out of whack" from what it used to sound like, there could be a couple of things wrong. Maybe your old tank was defective? Maybe the new tank you got was labeled wrong? Or maybe you have the cables reversed from where they should be? (I've hooked them up backwards by mistake. They sound crappy, but will still work.)

| Sorry for all the dialogue, but when you say dark, do you mean the tone of the amp gets muddier, bassier? The amp's tone should not change with the level of reverb. If that's the case, there's something wrong in the tank or the circuit ...if anything, it might seem a little brighter with the shimmer of the reverb. |

thanks guys for all your help my other tank was bad i liked it a lot better im gonna reverse the wires like Donnie said i might have to call peavey tommorrow with the # NUMBERS AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY. THANKS AGAIN
