A vintage, probably late 50’s, early 60’s Roy Smeck model Harmony H7 lap steel with original hard shell case (all latches and the handle in working condition) and detachable legs.
The pickup is by DeArmond, a “Golden Tone†.. The Volume and Tone controls seem to be free of noise and work smoothly, as do the string tuners... The only issue being a thinner output from the 6th string. Seems that the volume is lower than the rest... The pickup looks to be installed with no way to move or reposition it...
I bought the guitar with the idea of learning some old country and western swing tunes, and yes, it’s got that twang... I installed some Nashville C6 Lap Steel Guitar Strings by Southbound string co.. and look out...
Trading this in to help finance my next (8 string) steel.....
Try it, you’ll like it .
This steel guitar is in outstanding condition for its age. One ding as far as I can see, and that’s on the very end of the headstock. You can see it in one of the pictures
Overall, this is in great shape..
