My wife, daughter and I were out shopping yesterday in Door County, WI, and my wife noticed I really liked this handmade resonator lap steel guitar that was hanging on the wall in the music store we visited. I went down a couple of stores with our daughter and my wife went back in the music store and bought me the lap steel. Totally surprised me. This is what it looks like.

What a special find. Also it seems to me you have a couple of first class ladies thinking of you. Hopefully it sounds as good as it looks. |

Thanks, Jim. I thought the same thing when I saw it hanging on the wall in the shop. |

It must have a diaphragm like a Marrs "cat can".

From the photos it looks like a biscuit bridge resonator to me. _________________ Mark |

Erv, maybe these pics will help to see what is going on in there.

Can’t tell much about the cone from the photos, but these photos from National Reso-Phonic are likely similar to what you have: the biscuit bridge and the biscuit cone.
More of a blues oriented sound as opposed to country or bluegrass, where spider bridge resonators rule.

It is a biscuit resonator. Thanks for the National pics and info. It does the Blues really well. Love the sound. |
