I recently got a Cherokee 10 string with 3 pedals and 4 leversRather than hex keys, it has flat head screws behind the changer. Anyone know method for tuning pedals and levers on this type?

A picture of the changer end would help. I don't recall hearing or seeing a "Cherokee" pedal steel.

(I see you are in Pa. I'm from Harrisburg area).

Here's a Cherokee on Reverb. I donm't know how old the ad is.

Probably like a Marlen pull release.

Tune the raises with pedals down at the keyhead. Let off the pedal and tune with the screw behind the changer.

Tune strings that lower with the keyhead first, engage the lower lever and tune at the screw behind the changer.

With strings that both raise and lower it's more tricky
