I have big hands and have a hard time keeping them from hurting my fingers.Does anyone know of a pick that has a longer wrap? I'm sure i'm not the first one with this problem. Tell us about your cure!! Thanks. Gary.

Gary:

I'm a pretty good sized person and cursed with big fingers. I've found the Kyser finger picks to be the best for me.

I am very big as well. I wear a size 13 ring. I emailed Bobby Seymour and he sent some large picks that have a slight bevel to the area where they sit on your finger. They are extremely comfortable. They are nationals and are the largest finger picks I have ever seen. I really like the way they wrap around the finger and the bevel keeps them from hurting your finger even if they are bent to fit really tight...James

EDIT: Sorry, these picks with the bevel are Dunlop, not nationals.....James

The Sammy Shelor Picks with the wider bands are very comfortable but extremely expensive: http://www.acutab.com/sidebar/shelor_picks/picks.html

Gary you can probably find some different picks but have you tried a pair of needle nose plyers to shape the pick to your finger. I takes some fooling with but seems to work for me. I use standard Dunlop .022

What about us guys with skinny fingers? When I get a pair of picks , the first thing I have to do is file off some metal at each end of the wrap so they don't overlap when I put them on.

Steve, I have relatively "thin" fingers too and I just bought some National NP2 picks and they are the first ones that I didn't have to modify. The NP2's are a reissue of the original National Picks and I like them better than the Showcase 1941's which are supposed to be a copy of the original Nationals.

The Dunlop's seem to be a pretty good fit for me, too.

Gary, I kept hearing about the Showcase 1941's for years and finally got around to ordering a couple of sets. I've always used Nationals and have put up with the discomfort and picks flying off occasionally. These 1941's are so much like Nationals that they didn't take any time to get used to playing with them. BUT- they're comfortable and never fly away.

Those little nosepads (the ones Pro Optic makes for glasses) solve a multitude of pick discomfort problems.

Gotta go reline my picks!

Yeah, those nose pads look pretty comfortable. I just put a wrap of friction tape where the ends come together.
