Richard. I agree. I’d love to see this posted somewhere. I’d love to see Legrande serial numbers and dates of manufacture. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

An entire comprehensive history of the Emmons Guitar Company from the early sixties to its unfortunate demise a few years back would be most welcome.

A simple timeline would be Push Pulls from late 61 thru approx 1983 , perhaps 84, in that area. It would be near impossible to state when the LAST
"Production" Push Pull was made. The first Legrandes were being made at about the same time, 83 ish, these are the ones with the 4 Hole Bell Cranks. I owned a late 80's at one time. When did the first LII's arrive ?
Certainly less than 10 years later ! I would take a stab guess at around 90 ish. These all had the 14 hole Bell Cranks. LIII's around the same period, maybe a tad later.
When did the last LII's and LIII's leave the factory ? even harder question to answer. I suspect very late 2000's maybe later, we have members here who ordered guitars in that time period and later, they can best answer. Ron jr was attending the Steel Guitar Conventions in St Louis for a few years post 2010, so obviously he was still taking orders at that time.
I stopped in to visit Ron jr now and then during that period and it appeared he was working alone, he did have a guitar , maybe two in process. I never questioned him about the state of the Emmons Guitar company. Ron was always pleasant to talk to and he was always taking phone calls, the phone never stopped ringing !
I currently own an 81 Push Pull and a 95 LII. At one time not long ago I had two LII's here which were only a handful of numbers apart by S/N but was advised by many that the casting S/N's may not be indicative of the manufacturing date. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,
