Topic: How many volume pedals??? |

| I'm getting rid of some stuff, starting with three volume pedals---I'm still keeping a couple, but it got me to wondering---Just how many volume pedals do you guys have laying around? Now, I'm not asking if a Hilton is better than an Ernie Ball, just a generic question. How many working/non-working volume pedals does the average steel player own? |

one for my right foot and one for my other right foot 
ok, A Goodrich 120 which now lives in the seat, and a Goodrich LDR which is the at home Pedal.

Only one for my whole playing career. Different models but only one at a time. That's really dum because it if fails during a gig you've got no backup. I like the new electronic volume pedals but am trying to simplify so no more racks, wall warts, multiple amps. My all time favorite volume pedal is the Emmons one that came with the Emmons 1967 push pull, attached to the pedal rack.

Two. A Goodrich Pot Pedal and a Hilton. Both Low Profile.
One stays setup in my practice room, the other lives in the Pac-a-Seat and only comes out for gigs and rehersals.

| I have two.An almost new Goodrich but i still use my over 30 year old gear driven MSA volume pedal.To me if a pedal has the correct pot they are all the same.They all do the same thing.I could use an old De Armond (sp?) if it had the old AB pot.I will keep the Goodrich for a back up. The msa pot is a piece of cake to change.Tracy |

I have two, one for a back up. I keep both with my steel. A quick switch when something happens to one of them. Like last weekend, so I am getting another one from Stephen.

1 Hilton low profile, 5 Emmons, 1 BMI, 1 DeArmond, 1 Bigsby volume and tone control pedal. Adds up to 9. Not counting pedals for stock to sell such as Goodrich and Hilton.

1. Goodrich L120 x1
2. ZB Custom Volume pedal x 2
one ZB pedal stays home with the ZB the other goes in Packa seat as backup for the GRL120 (you never know) had one of 'em since I got my first ZB in '73
3. Fender Vol&Tone pedal stays home with the T-8 Stringmaster most times.
4. Epiphone Alkire E-Harp Volume Pedal- a remarkable artifact to match my E-Harp.
Sometime soon I expect I'll order a Hilton. then the GR will go in the seat as a BU for the Hilton and the ZB's stay home |

4 for me. Hilton for main gigs, and a Goodrich low profile (the one with the pre amp buffering circuit) which I use for sets where I have to be on and off the stage in just a few min (no AC required), and 2 1970 Edwards Light Beam pedals I use in my studio for practice (1970 MSA D10 aways set up and ready to go).

An old "bar mount"Sho~Bud I keep to use
when I play my 73 Pro II
An Ernie Ball I got at a garage sale
and a couple of Dunlops that I keep as spares just in case...
