If I return to Tokyo, I want a double-frame E9th 8X4 or 5. It has to be as light as possible, cause there's a good chance it is gonna be on a dolly with a small amp getting on and off of trains and subways most weekends. Is there any one guitar that is significantly lighter, or is this a dream? Thanks!

(Pssst!!! Don't tell my bolton...-L-)

Tom, Carter also makes a light weight guitar.
I don't think you would go wrong with Carter, GFI,
or Williams. They are all great guitars.

You might check out Exell steels. The keyless ones will fit in the overhead bin with no hassles.

With the right case you should be able to walk on the plane with this beauty also:

I'll second the endorsement of Gerald's guitar--well, I don't know the guitar. Of Gerald.
There are some pics of Excels on Scotty's site (I believe he is the sole distributor here?). It does raise the question of whether you can do better on an Excel in Tokyo, price-wise. You would think that you could save $$ not having to ship it overseas.
