Yes, it seems to be double-tracked in places to get a chorus effect. Not as confusing as Al Perkins on some Manassas cuts where he plays different lines altogether - sounds great if you don't know the instrument but puzzling if you do!

The way it sounds it must be Red Rhodes here with Mick Ronson. I can imagine he was asked to play on this during his stay in London with Michael Nesmith. (The vid may be offensive, at least it is to me).
