Do they allow video at the show, and if so has anyone posted any of Lloyd's set? _________________ Regards, Craig

Lloyd Green played again tonight. I told him his steel live sounded like it did on the records. I can tell you he was over whelmed being here in Texas. He was well received and treated first class and he appreciated it. |

Lloyd is now 80 and I think Jay Dee must be close and they both play as well as ever.
Not only did they perform at their best but also entertained with great stories.
Was well worth the long 11,000 mile trip to get here.
So many other players, too many to mention were also so wonderful.
Really a great show and a wonderful chance to meet so many nice people. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Yes unfortunately video wasn’t allowed but audio was.
I recorded every one of Lloyd’s songs and will be glad to post a few.
What the best way...SoundCloud? They are in .aiff format from my iPhone.

The Players themselves simply don't want un-approved videos of their perfomances out in public. |

half of your public interested in steel guitar was probably at the Dallas show to begin with... pretty soon there won’t be anyone left interested in watching those performances, so we won’t have anything to worry about .... we should just ban all the steel guitar videos of the YouTube and internet, and not allow any video or audio recordings, and maybe even forbid people taking pictures... then we can all come back here to our forum, and complain how there is not enough young steel players out there, or how popularity of steel guitar is dramatically declining .... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

If someone takes a video in the main hall and puts it on YouTube,FB,etc the Texas Show is billed by ASCAP and BUM. That gets expensive. Dr |

Thanks for this explanation. I always thought the players were the reason for this. ASCAP and BMI are the ones. Makes sense now. |

The way I see it is simple. The artist has the right to how they intend to share or sell their creations.
If a painter hangs his master work for you to enjoy looking at it, that does not give you the right to photograph and reproduce it for sale or even to share free. It's a theft to do so plain and simple if not authorized by the artist.
Others may disagree??? ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) _________________ Inlaid Star Guitar 2006 by Mark Giles. SD-10 4+5 in E9th; http://luthiersupply.com/instrument-gallery.html

Tony! Talk about 'highs and lows'!
This week you're posed with Lloyd Green, last week it was with me.
It sounds as though the trip was well worth making. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!
