Can anyone identify this Supro model. It doesn't seem to fit any of the descriptions in Gruhn's Guide.

Lee is exactly correct in identifying your lap steel.
The blonde coloured one you have seems to be more rare than the silver painted version that comes up for sale more often.
The bible that Lee references is a book by Mark Makin called
“ Palm Trees, Senoritas,....and Rocket Ships”
It is just an incredible reference book for Nation/Supro instruments that I highly recommend.....it’s available online directly from Mark.
I hope Mark won’t mind me posting a picture below of the instrument in question

Thanks for the info, guys.
I think what threw me was Gruhn's description of the No.30 guitar as "same as No.20 but with sunburst finish." The No.20 has a string-over pickup and one knob unlike the string-though and two knobs on the No.30.
Gruhn also adds that No.70 amp-in-case outfit (battery powered) includes the No.30 guitar.
Anyway, the steel belongs to a friend and I don't believe he has the amp....wish it were mine.
I'll check out Mark's book.... Thanks again.. _________________ Jerry Jones |

The book is not cheap, but it is one of those purchases when you know you got your moneys worth and it is a wealth of information for years to come.
Every guitar shop in Nashville should have the book, it makes Gruhns guide on the National Dobro/Valco section seem very limited.
