Alright, Sharon!
A couple practice suggestions:
Try practicing sliding up and down the neck without slanting/turning the bar and try playing without using any vibrato then bring it on slowly, like a voice. _________________ Excel 3/4 Pedal With An 8 String Hawaiian Neck, Sierra Tapper (10 string with a raised fretboard to fret with fingers), Single neck Fessenden 3/5

Another suggestion: Timing.
You don't need an entire backing track.
A metronome will be just fine.
And you don't need to buy a dedicated metronome.
If you have a drum machine you can program a "click" pattern to simulate a metronome.
Memorizing the notes and moves is one thing.
But timing is another beast.
If you don't work on your timing, there is a good chance that the first time you go out to play with a band, or add a part to tracks already recorded in the studio, you're gonna die. |

that is some fancy picking for 13 year old... when I was 13 i didn't even know what steel guitar was, let alone playing Way To Survive ... great job , just keep on pickin' ... I see you are playing U12 guitar, great choice again ... you have a talent, and all of the time in the world, have fun, and enjoy the ride ... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |
