I have recently went through 5 pots with 3 that were identical and none of them worked like they should. The 3 that were alike all had different effects on the tone and output levels ... not to mention having to remove a gear piece off the shaft and it having a flat spot to try and work with to set the cut in spot these were not cheap either , $32 each and not a one usable.
I ordered a new Sho Pro pedal today that has all the good parts in them and excited to get it and put it to use!!

A Hilton is the only way to go. No more pots to replace, no more strings to break. Plus same tone throughout the pedal, no change for low to full volume. The initial cost is more, but in the long run it pays for itself. |

Jeff - What brand pots have you tried? Many years ago I bought replacement pots from Tom Bradshaw for both of my Goodrich pedals and they have worked flawlessly ever since. I believe Jim Palenscar sells similar pots.
I love my two old Goodrich volume pedals. _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

Jerry Roller takes care of my Goodrich VPs and does a great job. He's quick at turning them around, too.
It isn't the cost that puts me off the Hilton - it's having to plug something else into the mains. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

How long does it take to plug one more item in? Just curious |

Not long at all (as you well know!) but there's enough clutter with a steel guitar rig already. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I agree with Roger on this.
I did try a Dunlop pot. but found the taper was too fast, so went back to a PEC.
Would like one of Jim's pots. but by the time you add shipping and import taxes the cost is just out of the question. |

I have both Goodrich and Hilton pedals. I prefer the sound of the Goodrich. |

I have Sho-Bud pedals with both the new Goodrich and the old Allen-Bradley pots. Both sound the same to my old ears. |

Just to add to my previous post, the Dunlop Pot. I bought was not one of Tom Bradshaw's. It was bought over here.
We all know he only sells goods of the highest standard. His integrity is without question. |
