I have an old Fostex 2424lv hard drive recorder that I dusted off the other day. It has a detachable front panel that serves a remote if I had a Fostex 8551 b cable. Can't find one on the internet. From what I have researched, it looks like a 15 pin VGA cable(male to female). From what I have read on Gearslutz or somewhere, someone fried the components by using the wrong cable. Near as I can figure, it was because the 15 pin cable he was using did not have all the pins connected.
If anyone has a 2424lv and knows of a cable that would work and not fry my unit your advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

I fried my remote unit by using a radio Shack Cable!
It cost about 200 bucks to get it fixed. I love my D2424lv
and I did find a cable that worked. I don't remember where I got it (10 years ago) I still use my Fostex all the time.
